- Woodland Tax processes personal data as part of its service provision. The term “personal data” includes all information about an identified or identifiable natural person.

What information does Woodland Tax process?
- Woodland Tax processes the following personal data and categories of them:
Clients:
- name/address details (name, given names, initials, titles, gender, address, postcode, place of residence) as provided by the client;
- other contact details (telephone number, email address and other such details necessary for communication) as provided by the client;
- other data obtained from public sources (such as the Trade Register, the Chamber of Commerce and the Land Registry) or provided to us by third parties in the context of handling a case or resolving a dispute;
- data necessary for entering into and performing an engagement agreement (such as contact details of third parties involved in a case);
- data provided by contacts of clients in the context of performing an engagement agreement;
- data for providing information about current events (including in relation to legal matters) and developments and for providing other legal services;
- data for conducting online and offline acquisition and marketing activities; data for the purpose of accounts, other administrative services and debt collection;
- other personal data that are required or need to be processed to comply with the applicable laws and regulations, the Legal Profession Bylaw (Verordening op de advocatuur) and the code of conduct applicable to lawyers, such as, under certain circumstances, processing data relating to an identity document and keeping a list of former clients.
With whom does Woodland Tax share your personal data?
- Woodland Tax does not provide your personal data to third parties (‘recipients’ within the meaning of privacy legislation) unless this is necessary for the proper performance of the purposes described in this privacy statement, when required by law or if you have given your consent. Examples of such third parties include lawyers substituting for other lawyers due to absence or illness or third parties engaged on behalf of and on the instructions of Woodland Tax, such as an IT provider. This also extends to the situations involving legal or other proceedings or correspondence with opposing parties. Woodland Tax may also be required by law to provide personal data to a supervisory authority or another public authority.
- Third parties to whom your personal data are provided are required to handle them confidentially. If these parties qualify as “processors” under privacy law, Woodland Tax ensures that a processor agreement is in place that meets GDPR requirements. Third parties engaged by Woodland Tax who provide services as independent controllers are themselves responsible for complying with applicable privacy laws when processing (or further processing) your personal data.
Security of personal data
- Woodland Tax is committed to ensuring that your personal data are protected and secure and, taking into account the state of the art, takes appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk. In the event that Woodland Tax uses the services of third parties such as an IT provider, it will include appropriate arrangements for the protection of personal data in a processing agreement.
